IEI and ADLINK Provide Vertically Integrated Machine Vision Solutions

IEI and ADLINK Provide Vertically Integrated Machine Vision Solutions

(Taipei, Taiwan, May 30, 2008) -IEI Technology Corp. (IEI) and ADLINK Technology (ADLINK) today announce they have combined technologies to offer mutual customers an advanced portfolio of sophisticated, highly-integrated, compact PCI Express (PCIe) machine vision solutions. Integrating IEI's half-size PICOe CPU cards and backplanes with ADLINK's PCIe x4/x1 frame grabber cards provide system integrators with the smallest completely integrated machine vision system in the market. PCI expansion options on IEI's PICOe platform ensure system integrators can develop small, high-performance value added machine vision architectures with customized features. A typical architecture combines IEI's half-size PICOe-9452 CPU card with ADLINK's PCIe-CML64FB frame grabber. The PICOe-9452 integrates an Intel Core 2 Duo processor with an Intel 945GM chipset and communicates with ADLINK's frame grabber installed on IEI's customized PICOe compliant HPE backplane through a PCIe x4 interface.

The ADLINK PCIe x4 Camera Link frame grabber supports one base, medium or full configuration Camera Link, color and/or monochrome cameras and acquires images at the maximum Camera Link rate of 680 MB/s across the PCIe x4 lane.

Combining IEI's PICOe CPU cards with ADLINK's PCIe x4 frame grabbers provides a vertically integrated turnkey machine vision solution that leverages the combined expertise of the market leaders in the global IPC industry. This integration enables system developers to shorten their time-to-market and develop more sophisticated value-added applications for the rapidly advancing field of automated machine vision.
