We can make the CFC card to be in Fixed Disk ID upon request. In this way the CFC can be partitioned as desired.
Which is the advantage to have a fix CFC? A removable CFC allows: - Remove the CFC - Several partitions = several O.S. The answer may be is: - Time to read / write due to blocks are smaller? For standard industrial customer that makes an application with Win CE, Win XPE or Linux and use CFC as HDD, which is the right configuration?
It is all related to if this CFC is going to be used in Windows environment or not. Within XP or WIN2000, you can almost do anything to the CFC configured to be fix disk. However, if the CFC is configured as removable disk, the OS can not make use of the non primary partition. We use the removable disk setting as the default settings unless otherwise specified. |
