| The new CF-1 CompactFlash Carrier can hold two CompactFlash modules providing up to 1Gbyte of non volatile storage. Designed as a PMC format module the CF-1 can be used on a variety of host systems requiring only a vacant PMC site and an IDE controller interface. It is compatible with any operating system already supporting IDE disc drives such as Windows, Windows Embedded, Linux and numerous real time OS's. It can additionally be used as the boot device.
Possible application are varied, ranging from simple data logging and transport, providing a mechanism for field upgrade of embedded software, or simply as an economical means of adding non-volatile storage to a system.
CompactFlash modules are available in different sizes and give an economical means of providing removable/non-volatile storage.
The CF-1 CompactFlash carrier is configured to accept two flash modules. One is for semi-permanent non-volatile storage which is only accessible from within the machine and the other is removable through the front panel. Each module can be from 8Mbytes to 512Mbytes.
