Designed with VIA's Apollo Promedia 8601chipset, the EP-3VWB+ is a high quality motherboard built by EPoX in the industry standard AT format. In addition to the built-in Trident Blade3D for high performance graphics, this board offers four industry standard PCI and one ISA expansion bus as well as many other advanced system and BIOS features. For full feature system designs, the Apollo Promedia 8601 is paired with the VIA VT82C686B super south bridge. Highly advanced, the EP-3VWB+ combines integrated AC-97 audio support for SoundBlaster Pro and FM synthesis legacy audio, super I/O, and hardware monitoring capabilities. The built-in AGP using Trident Blade3D delivers rich graphics capabilities for running 2D/3D software and Internet applications.

Two bus mastering ATA 33/66/100 EIDE ports are provided plus a floppy disk port supporting two drives of any industry standard capacity including 2.88MB as well as 1.44MB and lower capacity types. In addition an IrDa infrared port allows the connection of remote devices. Plus this mainboard is already equipped with the new Intel standardized Audio-Modem-Riser Slot (AMR) providing connectors for Audio and Modem at the system's I/O backplane.
