AFC1100/1200 is credit-card-size 32-bit CardBus Ethernet 100 Mbps PC card for PCMCIA CardBus equipped notebook computer. It conforms to IEEE 802.3u 100Base-TX standard. Designed with Intel (Digital Equipment) 21143TD CardBus Fast Ethernet Controller, this PC card uses Bus-Mastering DMA approach to optimize throughput while maintaining low CPU utilization.
AFC1100 is equipped with SC Tx/Rx connectors while AFC1200 is equipped with ST Tx/Rx connectors. It provides fiber optics link capability for CardBus notebook PC to connect the existing campus fiber optics network at 100 Mbps data rate with multi-mode fiber cable. The node to node network distance can be up to 2 km in full-duplex operation mode for multi-mode fiber optics cable.
