CPCI-C6402 is our next generation CompactPCI telecommunications platform, building on and further improving the outstanding performance and flexibility of the well-established CPCI-C6400. Incorporating eight fixed-point TMS320C6202 or TMS320C6203 DSPs from Texas Instruments, alongside two Motorola MPC860 real-time control processors, the CPCI-C6402 board offers more than double the processing power of its predecessor in a single slot. In addition, BiFIFO devices have been used to create high bandwidth, low latency links between the DSPs and either the control processors or a dedicated on-board connector, providing an alternative data route that increases determinism and minimizes delay to provide a data rate of up to 160MB/s when used in packet-based applications.
Designed for communications processing, this board is particularly suited to resilient multi-channel applications such as fixed access wireless, 3G wireless baseband processing, voice transcoding and recorders/archivers. As one of the ComStruct™ building blocks, CPCI-C6402 retains much of the architecture initially developed for the CPCI-C6400, while fully exploiting the new features offered by the C6202/03 devices. This means immediate familiarity for experienced C6400 developers ensuring full software compatibility across board generations and providing a clear route for application migration when expanding or upgrading hardware capability.
Software and Accessories:
- FACT
provides a comprehensive software environment for managing the powerful, high-density ComStruct™ DSP resource boards. This includes host side API's, resource and system management tools, and integrated ITU algorithms including vocoders, fax, echo cancellation and wireless codecs.
- Generic C/C ++ host Interface Library (genrHL)
allows you to communicate easily with CPCI-C6402 DSP hardware from a host application. It is a library of C/C++ functions that removes the need for detailed knowledge of the interface between the host and the DSP board, enabling you to concentrate on adding value to your applications.
- DSP Utility Library
contains a set of portable C functions that can be used in your DSP based application code which run on the C6000 processor.
- The NVRAM Programmer
is a host-based command line tool that allows you to easily erase, program and read on-board non-volatile memory.
- Device Drivers
are available for Windows NT® 2000, Solaris®, Linux® and VxWorks®.
- VxWorks BSP for MPC860P
enables the GenrHL host interface library to run on the MPC860P giving the control processor with the same functionality as the CompactPCI host.
