  • Applicatoin Note
    Transmeta CPU (TM3200/TM5400) uses software to emulate X86 instructions. Therefore, it needs 1MB space to store CMS CODE (Code Morphing Software). The 1MB Code will be de-compressed into 16MB instructions and occupied the system memory when boot-up. The DRAM type must be predefined (ex. 8M X 16 bits) for this reason. For example, a system with 128MB memory has 112MB ready for use after 16MB RAM is occupied.
