| The RB variant uses the space, e.g. behind an 8U-wide CPU, to provide additional space for plug-in connectors to supply the backplane with power. This means that no space goes unused in the card rack with this design variant. The power supply to the backplane by means of an ATX connector and the wiring of fans and disk drives can therefore be implemented in a highly efficient and economic manner. Additional plug-in / screw connections for all supply voltages permit individual wiring.

- 32-bit with rear I/O (with/without geographic addressing),
- 64-bit,
- V(I/O) = 3.3 V or 5 V,
- 33 MHz / 66 MHz ( 5 slots)
